     Welcome to the Rug Spa

Area rugs and carpets differ greatly in their construction, dyeing methods and fiber content. In-plant cleaning, by an experienced, specially equipped professional rug cleaning firm assures you of a safe and thorough rug cleaning. With our professional, in-plant rug cleaning service you can expect more thorough removal of abrasive, particulate soil and unhealthy allergens. Special attention is paid to stubborn stains and follow-up attention. Better control of fugitive dyes and dimensional stability.  Multiple cleanings are done, if necessary, at no additional charge. While rapid drying we keep controlled temperature and humidity to guard against weakening of the rug’s foundation due to prolonged, improper drying techniques. No risk of damage to your finished floors; a concern with on-location cleaning of area rugs. We Hand finish when the rug is dry and also hand clean the fringes and grooming of the pile. Oriental rugs should never be cleaned in your home. On-location cleaning methods can risk damage to your rug, as well as to the floor underneath. In-home cleaning simply cannot effectively remove the accumulated, abrasive soil from the rug’s foundation or assure rapid drying that is necessary to avoid permanent damage to the rug’s warp and weft yarns. The frequency of cleaning depends on the level of foot-traffic and the type of soil the rug receives. Typically, an Oriental rug deserves professional cleaning every 2-4 years.

15 Step Area Rug Cleaning

Step 1: Pick Up
Our company will come to your home to pick up your rug, or you may drop it by our shop.

Step 2: Pre-Inspection
We will determine as much as we possibly can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning “prescription”. We will photo and document your rug.

Step 3: Dry Soil Removal
We use a variety of techniques to ‘dust’ the rugs from the front and back, including our new, state-of-the-art Tumble Duster. We also use compressed air, a pile lifter, and special vacuum attachments to remove dry soil from your rug.

Step 4: Pre-Condition
Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils.

Step 5: Pre-Spot
Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal.

Step 6: Fringe Preparation
The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.

Step 7: Wash
Our new and improved wash pool will clean your rugs gently and thoroughly. It consists of paddles and brushes which mimic the gentle motion of hand and river washing. Soil is effectively removed by the gentle, turbulent flow of the wash water.  Our rug washing solutions not only provide a thorough cleaning, but they ensure that cross contamination and dye transfer is impossible during the washing process.

Step 8: Rinse
This new machine is one of the most successful rug-wringers in the world. It removes over 95% of moisture from rugs in 3 minutes or less. It allows heavy and dense textiles to be processed quickly and efficiently. Additionally, it is an exceptional tool for removing urine and other contaminants from rugs. Using a combination of centrifugal force, water irrigation, and effective chemistry, contaminants are flushed out of rugs better than any other method!

Step 9: Drying
Once the rug is removed from the centrifuge, it is hung for final drying in a controlled environment.

Step 10: Finishing
When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs.

Step 11: Post Inspection
Erick, our quality control specialist will give the rug a final inspection. If Erick fails your rug at the final inspection…. You guessed it; the process starts over. When you rug passes, Erick will release it for pick up or delivery.

Step 12: Delivery
Your rug will be wrapped in brown craft paper to protect it from dust and environmental soils until it is picked up or delivered. Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you.

Bonus 13: Fabric & UV Protection
Area rugs can be stressful to keep clean and new. Here’s a Fabric Protector that is an effective, safe, and affordable way to get stress-free peace of mind. No more worries about rough use, wild children, pets having an accident, or even that “social” wine spill – all the normal daily activities faced in a home. Our Fabric Protector can deliver total protection and is one of the best insurance policies against future mishaps. Check it out and you will be a believer, we are quite sure.

Bonus 14: Rescue & Restore
Revive your wool and silk rugs.  Wool is just amazing! Many people don’t realize that wool can repair itself. Wool rugs are like our hair because they are made of hair. We rejuvenate our hair with the keratin treatment. Why not rejuvenate your rug with the same type of treatment. You will give that luster back to that beautiful rug, keeping that heirloom around for generations.

Bonus 15: Padding
“Do I really need a rug pad? “ The answer is yes. Rug pads are critical for the protection of both your rug and your floor. A great rug pad should be durable and long-lasting. It should be made of sustainable materials that are safe to use in your home. And most importantly, it should always protect rugs and floors, not damage them. And ask about our Pet Padding.
